Gas installation in South Africa is governed by SANS 10087 for the work itself, the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Pressure Equipment Regulations made under it, and by SAQCC Gas, which registers the practitioners allowed to sign the certificate.

SANS 10087

The national standard for handling, storage and distribution of LP gas. Part 1 covers domestic and commercial installations and is the part most homeowners meet. It sets cylinder siting, pipe sizing, ventilation, clearances and testing.

Who may certify an installation

What this means in practice
